I PICKED plenty of winners on Sunday but couldn’t put them all together.
One serious Super Single, Hungary at Greece lost, but I advised covering if it went 3-2 Hungary but wasn’t able to comment after it happened so it’s a loser as far as the stats go.
The second Super Single was a speculative 1pt on Kyle Lafferty to score first for Northern Ireland at 7-1. I was disappointed with the accas as Germany let one down (what’s happened to the world champions the last few games) and nine-man Serbia beat the other by losing to a weakened Portugal.
My Group D preview tips were better and included Thomas Muller to score first at 18-5, Lew know who to score at evens and Scotland -3 at what was a generous 5-6 from McBookie.
Elsewhere on the site it was a fantastic day for golf tipster Ace Venturer whose selections on the British Masters earned a 103pts profit – with a 35-1 winner and 33-1 and 16-1 places.
And Greg Browning was just Greg with a goals nap that made it eight in nine attempts.
There’s just two nights of Euros to go and I for one am quite pleased with that because it will be good to get back to normal.
Roy Hodgson takes a weakened England to Lithuania aiming to finish with a perfect 10 out of 10 record. It could be a similar game to the one England won 2-0 at home to Estonia on Friday and under 2.5 goals pays under 10-11 at Ladbrokes.
England are no bigger than 2-5 with Betfred and Paddy Power and while they should win it’s a bit short considering Jack Butland will replace Joe Hart in goal and there will be no Gary Cahill in defence.
If Lithuania were better I’d go for goals but England to win to nil tempts at 1-1 with Paddy Power. Jonjo Shelvey is a confirmed starter and worth a look at 5-1 with Betfred to net at any time.
Estonia v Switzerland and San Marino v Slovenia are pretty much meaningless in the other Group E games.
Elsewhere it’s between Russia and Sweden for second spot in Group G behind runaway winners Austria. Sweden should beat Moldova at home without any fuss but are no bigger than 1-5 at Ladbrokes.
Moldova have just two points and are missing at least six first-choice players so look at the Swedes -1 at 3-5 Sportingbet or 3-10 with Coral to score 2+. Star striker Zlatan Ibrahmovic is 5-2 at Paddy Power to score first and 4-7 with Stan James anytime.
Russia just need a point at home to already eliminated Montenegro but I’m on the win at 1-3 with Bet365 with the away side minus their two best players Stefan Jovetic and Mirko Vucinic.
Consider Russian star Artem Dyzuba to score first at 4-1 with William Hill to score first and 6-5 with Betfred at any time. He has netted five in his last two internationals and five in last five for Zenit and I’m doing a 1pt Super Single on the hot hitman although the 6-5 is of course a safer option.
Austria have won eight out of nine and should blow away Liechtenstein. They are 4-7 minus two and while they could rest some players they showed with their 3-2 win in Montenegro they are still fully focused.
In Group C Slovakia need to match Ukraine’s result to claim second spot behind Spain although they could still be best third-placed finishers. Luckily for Slovakia they are at Luxembourg while Ukraine entertain Spain.
Slovakia missed a chance to qualify when they lost at home to Belarus and shouldn’t slip up again. Luxembourg have claimed a couple of surprise results but lost 3-0 in Bratislava and haven’t been as strong in the second half of the campaign. The visitors are 1-3 at Bet365 and Ladbrokes and 21-20 with Stan James minus one.
I believe I’ve been unlucky with the accas and I’m trying to wipe out the deficit by taking wins for Slovakia and Russia as well as Sweden -1. Adding Austria -2 takes it to 7-2 but I’m sticking to three teams and hoping that works.
